Fireplace theft at YHA Stainforth

The lovely marble fireplace at (the now-closed) YHA Stainforth in
North Yorkshire was stolen a few weeks ago. YHA has emailed its
volunteer wardens asking them if they would like to 'house-sit'
through the coming months - in order to ensure security of the
building. The hostel is to remain closed to guests.

in the Peak District (near to Alton Towers) tonight (25 Oct), Friday
and Saturday nights (26/27 Oct), for 18.95pounds a bed (breakfast

YHA is looking more like a good place to stay after Travelodge Saver
rooms have been repriced at 29pounds (from 26pounds), with some
previous 26pound rooms now on sale at a whopping 39pounds. Supersaver
rooms are now 19pounds. There are still special offers of 15pound
rooms at select hotels on certain Fridays, Sun ...

for updates via their website, detailing an offer of 13000 beds at
12.95pounds.
Anybody managed to get this offer!?
Check online and you'll struggle to get the deal. Either the hostels
are full (half term etc/groups etc) or the price is more ...

and Wales has now been removed across the network (except costed
packages).
