The following is a copy of an email I was sent a week or so ago. Its
from a volunteer warden who emailed as many YHA volunteers he could
find email addresses for. It was a 'public' email and is reproduced
here.
At first I decided not to respond, but I U-turned my decision and did

I've just booked several nights at 3 hostels during the summer.Total cost
approx ¡ê250
Max cost for any 1 hostel - say ¡ê95
This year I was told by each hostel that as the booking is for less than
¡ê100, it had to be paid for at the time of booking!
