Images of the new Lyneen Bridge can be seen on my Royal Restoration page:

The road dropped beside the old Lyneen Bridge was the last obstacle to
navigation on the Shannon side of the Royal Canal, the canal is now
substantially complete.

Directional TV Aerials
Tue, 15 Sep 2009 01:03:46 -0700 (PDT)
Can anyone recommend a good directional TV Aerial - the two I am
considering are:
(1) Vision Image 530/18-2 which is slightly odd looking but can change
between horizontal and vertical configurations to match the tv
transmitter (also does FM)
or
(2) Maxview Digital Tourer High Gain TV Aerial (MXL022).

What is the perfect propulsion system
Mon, 14 Sep 2009 11:48:51 +0100
Reading 'retiring in 8 months' as a frequent hirer I have been amazed by
the different handling of the canal boat and the wide range of propulsion
units.
I have always been interested by the electric canal boat. Looking at
electric forklift trucks a battery charge now lasts far longer. An electric
motor is q ...

Cleaning the water tank
Mon, 14 Sep 2009 03:45:28 -0700 (PDT)
I have never got around to cleaning out the water tank on our narrow
boat and even though we have a good drinking water filter which I
change twice a year, I think I should be more sensible! Are there any
reasonable chemicals I could put in and leave for a couple of weeks as
a first step - Milton?. Also how ofte ...

Sun, 13 Sep 2009 12:10:53 -0700 (PDT)
This is notice of an embryonic notion for a flotilla cruise in and
around the Manchester area in a couple of years time.
I know there are potential problems to be overcome and I'm only
seeking expressions of interest at this very early stage, before
making any attempt at an itinerary.
The specific MSC conditi ...

Lister SR2 Question
Sun, 13 Sep 2009 19:07:40 +0100
I believe that there are one or two people around here with much knowledge of
diesel engines in general and the SR2 in particular. I'd be grateful for a
little information.
If I were to fit a silencer and exhaust system to a SR2 which gave too much
back pressure, what effects/symptoms would you expect to see? ...
