Simple to use free or inexpensive remaking software?     Sun, 28 Oct 2007 17:50:20 GMT
"All" I want to do is a simple editing of DVDs that I record from TV on my new Panasonic DVD recorder and then burning new DVD after edit. Recorder can record and read both +RW and -RW discs (in addition to RAM). By a simple editing I mean just deleting some extra recorded video at the start and end of a time ...

I am new to DVD recording and have this question: When I record one episode (say a 1hour recording) on DVD-RW and then finalize it so that I can lend it to someone to watch will I be able to then record further episodes without any problems or must I not finalize until all recordings are made? In other words does ...

Which cheap and easy editing software?     Tue, 23 Oct 2007 14:34:12 +0100
I have a Fuji E900 still camera and I've just started experimenting with "movie mode" on it. It records AVI, apparently (haven't even uploaded a file to the PC yet). I'd like to be able to edit the "movies" I produce in a very basic way: cut out sections and, ideally, make a nice join, eg fade in/out instead of ju ...

Which portable recorder     Sat, 20 Oct 2007 15:51:14 +0100

AV-in from a suitable bullet camera. Easy transfer to PC. It will be used for recording the proceedings durin ...

What does it mean when a HDTV...?     Sat, 20 Oct 2007 10:38:27 -0400
What does it mean when a HDTV claims to support 1080i, but can only display 768 vertical lines? My own thinking says some interpolation is going on and the 1080i spec may be dubious. ...

problems with virtualdub and editstudio     Wed, 17 Oct 2007 15:38:46 GMT
I'm using editstudio (an old version, 4.1.5) to make a video including clips from a moving vehicle on a fairground. I'm trying to use virtualdub/deshaker as a preprocessor to remove the camera shake. Should be easy, but no....... Firstly, virtualdub complains it can't initialize the output codec. Same for al ...

Re: seeking AV camera as webcam     Mon, 15 Oct 2007 08:30:12 -0700
Did you look at the D-Link DCS-5300? This camera supports PTZ, has A/V out and functions as a IP Camera.
