Tape => DV file - sound delays

I recently was re-downloading my DV tape collection to a new huge hard. What
I noticed during hours of sitting nearby is that sound comes later than
video. The different is significant, maybe half-a-second or maybe a little
bit longer, no chances to evaluate. Just saw that somebody starts talking,

Hi,
I am trying to record from a Panasonic DV (NV-GS35) camcorder directly to
dvd+rw via Firewire.
XP pro, 384 MB Ram.
I keep getting ' The input signal and the output format are incompatible.
Please choose another disc format'
Anyone had this prob before ? Thanks in advance.

Microphone question

I may end up filming the school concert tomorrow - and due to positioning I
want to stand at the back and pick up the audio using a minidisc recorder at
the front. I can either plug the microphone into the mike socket, or put a
little battery power thing on it and run it through the line in jack.

Getting my camera repaired

My Sony camera has failed, TRV19E, I suspect it's the optical sensor,
Sony want the thick end of 200 quid for a fixed price repair and for
that money I would rather buy a new camera.
So can anyone?recommend someone in either Surrey or Essex who could fix
it for a?reasonable price ?

Dual Layer Discs

If I was to burn a Dual Layer Disc in a PC Burner would this play on
standalone dvd players/recorders (a recorder which doesn't support dual
layer writing) or would it be an invalid disc.
Seems to me that if dual layer recordable discs are worthwhile they must be
able to play on the majority of standalone play ...

Free program to edit .vob files

Hi
I had an idea instead of connecting my MiniDV cam to computer via firewire
and transferring the tape at 13gb an hour in order to edit - just burn a
DVD-RW on my DVD Recorder then import the .vob files off the disc onto the
computer using much less hard drive space.
I can't use moviemaker anyway as I run ...

Does anybody know what's going on? I downloaded the same fragments from the
camcorder a few hours later, got the same set of DV files, sizes are
absolutely equal. The byte to byte comparison shows that these files are not
equal and are having some min ...

Would go from a Canon MV900 camcorder into a Lite-On LVW5006 DVD Recorder ?
Is it 6 pin to 4 pin? and is it the same as the one for the computer?
