Sat, 17 May 2008 07:29:11 -0700 (PDT)
Hi
I have just bought a new hard-drive digital video camera (actual an SD
card camera rather than built-in disk).
My main reason for wanting such a camera is so I can simply drag and
drop the files on to my PC and save/view/upload them from there. I can
easily transfer the files on to PC either by USB or dire ...

Mon, 28 Apr 2008 14:38:52 +0100
I'm using iMovie and iDVD to edit and present video and that seems by
and large to suffice for my humble needs, but with one exception.
I'd like to be able to export the audio to e.g. SoundStudio and make
some changes to levels here and there and attempt to silence some
extraneous noises (the tools for fiddli ...

Fri, 25 Apr 2008 21:43:51 +0100
Hi folks.
I recently transferred a bunch of Super 8 sound home movies to video, using
wall projection and firewire from a Sony video camera. The final results
(after many trials and experiments) seem excellent to my eye. I'm keen to
copy the films onto DVDs and spread them around various family households

Editing an MPG file without re-encoding it
Tue, 22 Apr 2008 16:00:42 +0100
Is there any software that can perform simple edits on an mpeg file, such as
top- and tailing it and removing commercial breaks, without having to
re-encode the whole file. I'm sure it must be possible: 95% of the file is
unchanged so you do a byte-for-byte copy, with only a few frames around the
edit point ne ...

Is X1650PRO 512MB any good for video editing?
Sat, 09 Feb 2008 22:32:28 +0000
I am looking to replace a 256MB Radeon 9800XT with the above card, in
an attempt to make Pinnacle 10.8 work properly. Currently it complains
that the video card is not good enough to use the hardware
acceleration.
I am limited to AGP 8X at present and wonder what is the best I can
get for that - something that ...

Freeview BBC 1
Mon, 04 Feb 2008 21:20:36 +0000
I'm not getting any listings for BBC one on my freeview box (from
tomorrow onwards). Usually shows 14 days in advance, all of the other
channels appear ok and there's no signal problems etc. Last few days
I've been getting a few 'program/film to be announced', but only on BBC
1, I put this down to the sport ...
