It doesn't suprise me you found this, because I know from my
distant-past experience with a Matrox video capture product (G200 or
something like that??) that the AVI file produced is just a wrap ...

I can report that making a VCD quality (576 lines or whatever the
exact figure is) movie (with Pinnacle 10.5) from 640x480 stills does
generate a movie of reasonable quality. Certainly at least as good as
normal TV reception.
I found other quality limiting problems however, which made me realise

Pinnacle 10 & creating a movie from jpegs

I have this working OK but I am getting weird results on the overall
timing; the length of the movie.
The movie I am making is a VCD quality one, 25fps.
So, I should have one frame every 40ms.
I have 1400 jpeg images (taken from an interval shooting camera,
640x480).
1400 x 0.04 = 56 seconds. THAT is how ...

rescue video from SD card

using the USB cable, sometimes the transfer of video from my Canon
camcorder (SD card) to my PC won't work, I get an error message and
the video will not download. I've tried a different cable but no joy.
I've also tried a usb SD card reader but that won't work either, and
yet the video plays fine in the camera pl ...
