Bad media, bad files or bad Nero?

I have a project in Nero that I've been trying to burn onto a Dual
Layer DVD+R disc. So far unfortunately without success (4 new beer
mats!).
I have encoded the project and I am just burning the Video_TS and
Audio_TS using the burning Rom.

I'm thinking of getting an LCD television in the sales. I just have a
couple of questions for those more in the know than me.
Full 1080 HD Televisions is there a certain size of screen that you
have to get or above for full HD, or can you get full HD in most
screen sizes? I didn't want to get something too big, ...

What does Adobe After Effects actually do, or allow you to do?
Does it apply special effects to a clip, animations, what?
Does anyone have a before and after example of what might be achieved?

Audio Tracks in NeroVision

When you are making a DVD in NeroVision Express and you already have
sound in your main movie which you want to be the main sound for the
movie, is it also possible to add audio tracks below to the audio
track 1 and 2 timelines so that you could switch to those tracks
instead of the main audio on the video timelin ...

Mini Dv Tapes - Advice Please

Can anybody recommend a good make of Mini DV tape and also where to buy
them from. I have been using Maxell DVM60SE tapes but am curious to
know if there is atape that wil give better quality.

NeroVision 3 - Adding Video Files

Does anyone know if its possible to move a video file in NeroVision 3
so that it doesn't start at 00:00:00.00?
So far I have added a video file to my project but when I try and drag
it further to the right on the timeline so it starts at about the 2:20

Can anyone recommend any alternatives to Nero?
At the moment I have the Nero 6 reloaded suite, which includes Nero
Burning Rom, Nero Vision Express etc.
Unfortunately I've had a couple of problems with Nero 6, one of my
files that I saved for a project wont open any more so I've lost a
load of saved work and ...
