Is pet insurance worthwhile (for a cat)

Does anyone have any comments to make on pet insurance for a cat
such as is it worthwhile, which schemes are good and which to avoid.
I looked at one scheme offered by Sainsbury but I was not impressed.
Since there is an initial 50 pounds deduction on any treatment,
minor ailments would not really be covered. ...
