Wasps inside partitiion wall- is this ok to leave alone?
Tue, 22 Jul 2008 16:46:44 +0100
I can't see any articles in this ng and it looks like it may be inactive- but
I'll try anyway.
I just noticed that wasps appear to be nesting insdie a partition wall here-
getting access via an airbrick about 2m above ground level. There is a lot of
activity- I don't know how long they have been there. I have ...

Strange seashore object
Sat, 5 Jul 2008 15:25:22 +0100
I was beach-combing with some children yesterday when we found a cluster
of about 25-30 small pebbles, the whole mass being about 10 cm by 3 cm.
The pebbles were mixed sizes from perhaps 0.5 cm to 1.5 cm across, all
attached by tiny threads a few millimetres long to a small central mass
of tangled fibres per ...

Identification please
Fri, 13 Jun 2008 11:12:54 +0100
Last autumn I took a couple of pictures of the item featured in the link
below. It measured c. 2cm in length and was beautifully constructed. In
spite of looking very hard, it was, in fact, very soft. It was attached
to the underside of the roof of our woodshed. I had never noticed it
"intact" .... only spotte ...

Crepis?
Mon, 2 Jun 2008 22:41:22 +0100
I've started recording the local flora as a blog, but I have the problem
that I can't identify all types of plants, including a large number of
cichorioid daisies. I recently encountered a couple of plants that I
think are Crepis.

Spindle
Tue, 3 Jun 2008 01:27:44 +0100
I posted on here last year, asking for an identification of fruit, which we
agreed was spindle.
I planted two berries in a pot, the pot was outside all winter and no show
yet. How long do they take to germinate? Anyone?

phaeolus
Fri, 23 May 2008 17:43:45 +0200
My wife recently had a series of allergy tests. We live in France so
the results are in French which makes interpretation a little difficult.
:-)
Under the heading "pollens of graminaceous plants" there is "ph¨¦oles des
pr¨¦s" for which she has a moderate sensibility. I have tried to track
it down on the In ...
