A real sign of Spring
Fri, 31 Mar 2006 22:24:12 +0100
During the warm sunshine this morning (Friday) a large brimstone butterfly
briefly visited my garden. At least I think it was a brimstone because it
was all-yellow, but it seemed a lot bigger than I recall from previous
years.

Frogs
Sat, 25 Mar 2006 23:12:47 -0000
Among our frogs there is one which is slightly bigger than the others, and
is green. I wondered if it might be an edible frog. We are in
Hertfordshire.
I wonder if anyone could give me a website where I could see a picture of
the edible frog. I've tried Googling without success.
Many thanks

When Squirrels wake up
Wed, 22 Mar 2006 02:32:23 -0600
I have a large tree outside my kitchen within viewing distance.
Up until a few weeks a ago I always saw a group of suirrels (grey) at the base
of the tree.I assume their absence in the last weeks is due to hibernation?
So when can I expect to see the creatures back?

Hi all,
Just to let you know about my new website I've constructed so that
people can identify H. rubicundus. I'm sure I've made a few mistakes
but I've only just finished and it needs more work. However, please
take a look.
Thanks ,
Catherine
