Who's attacked our Shaggy Inkcap?
Fri, 30 Oct 2009 13:12:41 +0000
Http://www.flickr.com/photos/watchman/4058309506/
Yesterday morning I went into my garden and found a beautiful new Shaggy
Ink Cap fungus. When I looked at the other side, it had been stripped as
shown in the photo above.
Part of the cap exterior is missing, and part lies on the ground. There
may be an ' ...

Moth identification
Mon, 19 Oct 2009 22:03:36 +0100
Hi, could anyone identify this moth for me please?
http://www.challoner.com/temp/moth.jpg
It flew into our house (outskirts of London) on 31 August this year.
I've checked a few moth websites but haven't been able to find a good
match for it.
TIA...Nick.

Mon, 21 Sep 2009 22:00:00 +0000 (GMT)
With the continuing drought our bird bath is becoming popular again,
especially with the woodpigeon family. However I have noticed when birds are
absent there is almost always a wasp sitting on the side sipping away

First signs of Autumn?
Fri, 18 Sep 2009 22:12:25 +0000 (GMT)
Over the last week or so spiders have been on a web-building rampage around
house, garden and garage. Orb spiders generally outdoors; Rather leggy
"glass" ones inside (almost colourless and nearly invisible until they
move).
Today, Friday, a sudden flurry of song from several robins and the
reappearance of our ...
