nv relay
Tue, 14 Jul 2009 09:41:55 +0100
Though otherwise in excellent condition my recently acquired Student 1800
has no No Volt relay. All that remains is a black blob that at some point,
after it melted, has been removed from the circuit :-)
Any thoughts on a suitable replacement and a source welcome.
thanks

Chuck guard glazing material?
Mon, 13 Jul 2009 08:30:32 -0700 (PDT)
I want to replace the 'glazing' in a metal-framed chuck guard, as well
as the window covering the gearbox scale on my lathe.
I was thinking in terms of polycarbonate, but I know it scratches
easily and it's also expensive - I have to buy an 8' x 4' sheet for
well over ¡ê100, or pay to have it cut to size. The chuck ...

Is there anyone here with the equipment and skills necessary to repair
an exhaust silencer? The 1947 Dennis motor mower that I'm restoring has
an unusual silencer. The outer skin of the silencer is rusted through in
several places, but I cannot find a similar replacement. The closest I
can find is ...

I'm trying to remove 8mm BMS axles from some aluminium parts and so
far the only method which has yielded results is heating the aluminium
parts with a butane torch for ten to fifteen seconds before attempting
to remove the axle.
Is there any risk to the future strength of the aluminium parts by
putting them th ...

Modifications to a Myford ML7R
Sat, 11 Jul 2009 20:42:48 +0100
I have a ML7R which is essentially a standard ML7 fitted with a super7
headstock and tailstock introduced by Myford in the late 70s.
I'm becoming ever more frustrated by the limited range of angles that
the topslide can be rotated (+/- 45 degrees). I am considering imitating
the Super 7 design by fitting a do ...
