What does it do?
Tue, 18 Aug 2009 16:33:06 -0500
I've just acquired a Clarkson Mark 3 Tool and Cutter Grinder in not

the accessories).

PC133 SDRAM - just on the off chance
Tue, 18 Aug 2009 15:27:24 +0100
Bought a couple of 256mb sticks of PC133 sdram on Ebay last week to upgrade
my antique 733mhz pentium to its maximum 512mb and sod's law it turned out
to be ECC parity stuff for servers not desktop pcs. Strangely it does
actually work but each stick is only recognised as 128mb so I'm still stuck

8 kg end mill?
Tue, 18 Aug 2009 15:11:26 +0100
Just shows you need to watch out for postage charges on eBay.
I was just thinking of bidding on a nice-looking new 15 mm LS end mill -
opening bid 0.99p and no offers - when I noticed the postage charge of
¡ê14.99!
Looked up the Royal mail website and find you could post an 8kg parcel
and still have change ...

Tue, 18 Aug 2009 01:25:16 -0700 (PDT)
I ahve just finished the Hemingway, Trent Pinion mill and have taken
it all apart to finish the parts. The steel parts I would like to
black. The instructions recomend heating to red hot and plunging in
old oil, which I dont like the sound of. I have found Carr's blacking
but have heard it can be patchy, Any exper ...

OT but someone here might know
Mon, 17 Aug 2009 21:36:08 +0100
Years ago, there was a prototype electrical generator shown on TV -

It was a low ramp on which one wheel of a vehicle was driven and parked.
In the ramp was a pair of rollers driving a generator. The other vehicle
wheels were chocked. With the car in gear and at tickover speeds a ...

a 45degree or adjustable angle plate.
I have a small collection of ordinary ...

Sun, 16 Aug 2009 08:07:40 -0700 (PDT)
Hi all
My neighbour, aware of my engineering interests and workshop, has
asked for some assistance with one of his old tractors. It has
adjustable width front axle as shown in the photo at
http://www.chatstractors.com/1440-Allis-Chalmers-tractor-cover.htm
