Lablab beans - for Nick
Mon, 12 Oct 2009 11:43:32 +0100
We ate our crop of lablab beans the other night. (Small crop, because I
had only one plant). I steamed them whole, and they were quite

12 Oct 2009 09:01:03 GMT
I have a couple of "clumps" of toadstools growing on the lawn. The

Fuchsia sport
Sun, 11 Oct 2009 20:24:15 +0100
I have an unknown variegated fuchsia (leaves green centre, white margins
with pink tinge - red slender flower with magenta centre) It has thrown a
sport which has green leaves with red veins (cutting just coming into
flower)
Is this a known habit of a known variety or have I got something new?

Soil sifter
Sun, 11 Oct 2009 17:04:26 +0100
If you have stony soil and want to sieve it without the back ache and
arm ache of hand sieving, then I can thoroughly recommend the
electrically powered Scheppach RS400. I've just bought one of these and
it performs really well.
I can also imaging that it will be good for sieving any woody bits from
home co ...

Some of this years success stories out on our plot...
Tomatoes.. picked 18lbs of ripe Toms today 11th October, amazing.
We grew three varieties outside on our plot all of which are said to be
Blight resistant and the above comment confirms it, one spray of Bordeaux
