do cacti lean into the sun or away from it?     Sun, 12 Oct 2008 10:34:24 +0100
I'm sure I've got some that lean away from the sun... but others appear to lean into it. Is there an answer to this? To be honest, it's a bit of a problem with my large cacti as I need them to grow straight up - there's very little room here. Cheers for any help, Tom. ...

Bats     Sat, 11 Oct 2008 18:59:23 +0100
They're dashing about all over the place. Isn't this rather later than usual? We've had warm days and chilly nights for a while now and there have been lots of mozzies and gnats about. Could it be they're making up for lost feeding time, due to the cold, wet summer? I may be wrong but I don't recall seeing the ...

Toadstools growing     Sat, 11 Oct 2008 16:21:01 +0000
I gave my front lawn a mow earlier today, and noticed in two places, there was toad stools growing at the edges of the lawn. I turned my front garden over earlier in the year and reseeded it all after levelling and throwing in/on some sharp sand to aid drainage, as it has previously suffered from large areas ...

Hi, I have just been out picking some apples from my trees. I inherited the trees when I moved here a couple of years ago, and the trees are probably about 5 -10 years old. I need some help with two things, please. (1) Some of the trees are very leggy, should I prune right back and 'start again' or tackle just ...
