Ragwort     Sun, 29 Mar 2009 20:18:03 +0100
You know how some plants are very sensitive and will curl up if you touch them? Well I reckon ragwort is even cleverer than that, it runs and hides.... ;-) What happens is, you go down the field with feeds or to pick up droppings, and you see huge clumps of ragwort all over the place. So you go back down ...

We have one of the standard ones with a rotary head, but it's not really up to doing thick stuff like stirrup leathers or driving tack (even after sharpening and checking for blocked punches). Had a bit of excitement here last Friday. I had the day off - using up annual leave - and had just ridden Cherry. When I got off I happened to look across the paddocks towards the industrial estate next door ... and saw a massive cloud of black smoke billowing out from under the roof of one of the units! I ...

Bit quiet on here lately isn't it?
