Strange Happenings with a Tail

I have noticed on Pointers tail that he is becoming bald, or rather a
bald patch appearing. Although it is covered by hair further up his
tail, if I move the hair a patch on his dock is completely bald. Its

Just a quick update on the Grand Sweet Itch Experiment and the
laminitic cob.
Chindato, as you by now are sick of hearing, has had sweet itch since
he was a foal (he's now a 17hh 7 year old). Every summer since he was
