Hello,
Not strictly a stationary engine perhaps but---I have some friends who
want to dismantle a 4 VRO engine which dates from 1944. This has a
tunnel crankshaft and it looks like you need to pull the gears off
the camshaft before removing the camshaft so it is a fairly
complicated engine.

vintage gauges for sale

I have a crate of 6 inch flanged pressure gauges, they're solid brass
and 0-100 psi, some are marked on the face H J Heinz, as they came
from their demolished factory in london. One is on ebay at present.

Lister with heated carb

On the Oldengine list an Aussie has posted pictures of a lister A type with
the carb heated by the exhaust smoke.
I have never seem this shown in England & wondered if it was ever used in Britain.

I discovered their web site yesterday, (http://www.nmes.org/) & after
chatting with their secretary was invited to visit which I did today.
Their next full working days are the 2nd & 3rd of January but they are
working on the engines on Wednesdays & Sundays & allow visitors with

Anyone got any idea who may currently own the copyright to the "Douglas"
brand ( I am only interested in the stationary engines, not motorcycles)

One of my workmates is trying to strip and rebuild a Lister diesel, and
would like to know tappet clearances and cyl head torque.
