OT - bike prices
Fri, 5 Sep 2008 20:53:44 +0100
A Vincent Series A twin (ex Brian Verrall) sold for ¡ê214,800 at Bonhams this
week. It beat the previous record price of ¡ê177,500 for a 1927 ex-Brooklands
Zenith-JAP combination set a few hours earlier at the same sale.
My old Comet-in-a-box is looking more attractive every day!

One of the good guys
Fri, 5 Sep 2008 20:39:42 +0100
About a month ago, I found some alternators on eBay. They are old new stock
(a label said 2006) & whilst technically for Briggs & Stratton, they are
generic to many small engines I believe. On Tuesday, I drove up to Crewe &
bought three 3.7kva alternators at the princely sum of ¡ê50 each. The chap

A tale of horror and despair
Wed, 3 Sep 2008 22:24:04 +0100
Gentlemen,

Picture the scene you are at a rally with your 1918 Lister M and you find a

to small, what do you do! I know a gentleman who recently ground down the
crankshaft, whilst at the rally, with a angle gr ...

bit OT - road roller needed.
Mon, 1 Sep 2008 17:17:31 +0100

We are road building at our permanent site near Canterbury. We need a road
roller to compact the road bed and then squash the scalpings that we use for
the road surface - steam would be more fun, but Diesel would do just fine.
Naturally, it would make common sense to use ...

Gardner 2LW Pistons and Rods Required
Sat, 30 Aug 2008 12:58:48 -0700 (PDT)
I am looking for a source for two pistons with conrods for a Gardner
2LW. At the moment I don't have any dimensions or numbers for the
engine. This is my first port of call looking for the parts.
SEM is on my list if nothing materialises.
The 2LW is not mine but the parts are a trade (hopefully!) for an
incomplet ...
