C-V WA2
Sat, 26 Jan 2008 02:02:59 -0000
I have a new toy. Smooth, free and having compression, it is still in its
Admiralty "dark white". The uncommon WA2 marine engine, is complimentary to
the more usual MA2 air cooled flat twin.

I generally steer clear of water cooled engines, but this is smal ...

Coborn Engines
Fri, 25 Jan 2008 14:43:00 -0800 (PST)
Bought a bundle of engine manuals lately, including one for Coborn
engines C3 and C6, apparently printed by K&L Steelfounders and
Engineers Ltd, Letchworth.
Anyone enlighten me ? Or should I just file it in the bin ?

OT: Getting out of a hole...
Thu, 24 Jan 2008 10:06:45 +0000
Sometimes, we take technology for granted, and sometimes it can be
self-defeating.
We use a couple of small Toshiba Libretto laptops when we go overseas, and one
had a cut-down version of Win2kPro that we had a problem with, so last night I
had a few minutes spare and decided to re-install the software.

Dion Houghton
Tue, 22 Jan 2008 18:07:09 -0000
I am saddened to have to say that Dion Houghton(Gardner helpline) has passed
away. He was Sales director at Gardner's for many years and took a great
interest in the company history, he always said he allocated engines rather
than sold them, as they could never keep up with demand.
He retired many years ago and ...

OT: Plotter collection and repair
Tue, 22 Jan 2008 17:06:53 +0000
One of the reasons for the trip up to Scotland last week, was to collect a large
format (A0) inkjet plotter that we had bought on ebay. Mark McGrath kindly
arranged to collect it from the other side of the Forth, and we were able to
reciprocate by bringing up some lamps that he had bought from Rushden to his
facto ...

Biodiesel & Sat Nav speeds
Tue, 22 Jan 2008 03:10:46 -0800 (PST)
Very intertesting thread going on here. I realise I am a little late
into the conversation but I do have some direct experience in both
topics.
I have been making Biodiesel from waste vegetable oil (WVO) since 2005
and have successfully run it in the following vehicles: 2001 Audi A4
Tdi 130 SE saloon from 15,000 ...

Almost certainly they will work well into the infra red so will pick
