I have just spent the weekend at my favourite Local Rally, Bolnhurst, this
is a vintage event rather than steam, loads of tractors and a good selection
of engines.
Unfortunately the weather was seriously warm and I tended to sit and enjoy

Anyone like to have a crack at identifying this little object that I have
just dug up in my garden? It appears to be a lubricator of sorts, but for
what exactly? It is 1" long and 1" high and the "Screw-cap" (?) is 11/16"
diameter. Although there appears to be rust present, no part of it responds
to a strong m ...

New addition to workshop

Gentlemen,
Fetched home a small bandsaw yesterday from a mate who is moving and has no
further need of it, it was made by a company in the midlands and is made
totally of cast alluminium, no sheet metal in sight. It will make tank
making a lot easier.

It was a good run up to Shrewsbury except for the last three miles of the
M54 which took over half an hour. Roadworks it said - bloody census! Not a
high powered Police operation - although there was both Traffic bike &
unmarked car to hand in ...

Another petrol problem

The petrol tank on my Bradford 'King of All' was sealed many years ago
with some proprietory muckite. This seemed to hold up just fine until
unleaded came along at which point it started coming away from the
inside of the tank in slimey flakes, just right for blocking things up.
