Was in my back garden this afternoon and heard the beautiful sound of an old
engine overhead. It was a biplane taking off from Kirkbride airfield. All
polished aluminium and flying very slow in the direction of Scotland. Anyone
have any idea what it could have been? ( camera not available at the time,
sadly). ...

OT - AVO help needed.

I picked up a 1980 metal reinforced Mk8 AVO in a wooden case with new leads
at the weekend. I fitted it with a new 1.5 volt "A" battery was surprised to
find no response from any setting, the first time I've found an AVO meter
that didn't work!
I've looked inside & cleaned obvious connections, checked the lea ...
