I picked up a 1989 gold ¡ê5 a week or so back - the Tudor Rose 500th
anniversary coin. Apparently there were 2937 uncirculated issued, and yet
the CoA I received with it is numbered 03245. Does anyone know why the coin
number is greater than the issue number? Did they start at 1000 or something
confusing like t ...

I have just had a very pleasant surprise when arriving yesterday at
the shop in Inverness and did my usual quick scan of the spare change

issued for the 40th Anniversary of Elizabeth II reign?

All,
I made some corrections for the mintages of the various Jersey decimal
coins. There are several with 10,000 or less.

Another item of interest is that only 3500 coins were minted for the
Jersey 2006 two pound coin.

FYI: There were 480,000 coins minted in 2009 for the Island of Jersey. An
additional 1,500,000 20p coins were also minted.
