CO2 Tetra set up
Mon, 19 Nov 2007 17:45:21 -0000
Hi
I have just changed the Nutrafin CO2 system for the Tetra gas bottler one.
The nutrafin was easy to understand....it is now in the smaller tank. I am
struggling with the Tetra though.
Do you have to press the button on the cannister everyday? This is no good
for me as I am frequently away for a couple of ...

Reef gone, back to discus again
Thu, 25 Oct 2007 09:05:52 +0100
Due to a potential overseas move in the next year or so, it was necessary to
break down my reef tank. Rather than leave the aquarium empty (or sell it as
the Wife wanted!!), I decided to go back to my real passion, discus. The
tank is just in the planning stages at the moment, although it has the water
and a f ...

Another dumb newbie question
Thu, 18 Oct 2007 21:49:09 +1000
Thanks for people's advice so far - things are going well with the new tank.
I've lost one fish so far - no sign of it anywhere, but it was acting
'weird' the night before so figure it died and was thoughtfully disposed of
by the other fish before I woke up the next morning. The other fish seem to
be fine. Mos ...

Jewel Rio 180 filtration
Tue, 9 Oct 2007 17:45:45 +0100
Hi
I find that this tank gets particles building up very easily and looks
mucky, whereas my Tropiquarium stays looking clean and "bits" free.
I think I might need to use a different filter (although I have added an old
fluval internal filter as I thought it might help) and wonder whether to buy
an external ...

Who ate our eggs?
Tue, 02 Oct 2007 17:42:07 GMT
I have 2 lovely angelfish - 1 is golden yellow and silver with black spots
and the other one is dark marbled. They surprised me the other evening by
laying over a hundred eggs on the side of the filter. I watched the marbled
angelfish swimming over the eggs ( was this the male fertilising the eggs?)
and both ang ...

Newbie questions
Tue, 2 Oct 2007 22:13:28 +1000
Hi. My online name is Yowie. I'm from Australia. Please forgive some newbie
questions - I don't know where else to ask, and there doesn't seem to be any
other newsgroups related to keeping fish.
I 'inherited' a tropical fish tank, with fish. Its 2'x1'x1.5'. I got it
all, including the water, heater, filter e ...
