How long does the filter need to run?
Mon, 9 Nov 2009 21:54:05 +1100
A 100 litre fresh water tropical tank. Has 10 neons, 6 rosy barbs, a black
neon, a rummy nose tetra and a small bristlenose. Has some rocks, a large
peice of driftwood and a fair amount of java moss in it. pH around 6.5,
nitrate and nitrite levels are fine.
Had a whisper brand hang-on filter that worked OK, a ...

Priyanka Chopra caught everyone?s attention in the video for ?Desi
Girl? from Bollywood?s movie ?Dostana.? She is also in a gold, nude
colored sari. The sari is gathered on her shoulder unlike the
traditional way of draping a sari so that less is seen. As for her
blouse, this skim ...

Torpedo barb
Mon, 20 Jul 2009 11:30:59 +0100
Browsing my local Maidenhead Aquatics the other day and was quite taken by a
tank of torpedo barbs. Thought they looked really nice - maybe I'd get a
few. Then I noticed the price - ¡ê23 each!

Where to find a new home for silver sharks and possibly more ...
Wed, 10 Jun 2009 02:36:42 -0700 (PDT)
After (stupidly) trusting shop advice on the number and type of fish
we can put in our 3.5ft tank when we first started it up at the start
of the year, we've now wised up and realised our foolishness.
We've had to decide which fish we want to keep and how we want our
tank to be.
In light of this, we have an addit ...

Depth of Susbtrate in new aquarium
Wed, 18 Mar 2009 19:00:57 -0700 (PDT)
As a complete newbie to this, I'm confused as to the depth of
substrate that I should be using.
Aquarium is 125 litres and I've started with 5mm gravel. However, one
book says 2 inches depth and another says 4 inches. I want to put
plants in it and have bought some laterite to mix in with the gravel
but have no i ...

External filter spares
Mon, 2 Mar 2009 10:14:32 -0000
I have a Tetratec EX1200 external filter
but I need a new intake tube (not the hose, the tube thing that goes in the
tank) and also the outlet bar. (I think any will do - it doesn't have to be
tetratec). Anyone have any going spare to sell? (Yes I've contacted Tetra
but not had a reply yet)
