Scout hut nr Penrith?

Hi everyone
We're off up to the lakes for a long weekend over half term and we would
like to travel up on a friday night & kip somewhere near Penrith.
Does anyone know a scout hut floor we could crash out on around that
area?

Cooking Equip

We went to our first large camp this summer and saw several groups
cooking on very large what looked like ex-army cooking stoves. I had
a quick look online and do see anything similar and was wondering if
anyone knows where these types of pieces can be picked up.

I saw this the other day. I read here of multi-cultural groups with members
from various faiths, ( Tony Ransley?). If it were me I'd be seeing if i
could apply for funding for some camps and equipment to support my work in
bringing kids and famiies together...?

McDonald's style badges for leaders

I got my 5 year service award. It's only 5 years and it feels a bit
naff. But not as naff as the badge with a 5 on it.
It just seems like an award for turning up. OK for kids i guess but
i'm a grown up. I don't need that...

Another corker I heard today its "Illegal to tie a bowline one handed"
Apparently the Scout Association got sued because a young person lost their
hand when it was miss tied and constricted the blood flow.
I would have thought that if it was illegal it would have gone to crown
court.
