whilst we had no problems keeping the youngsters occupied, I didn't
see anything that couldn't be done locally at County/District level

I'd also suggest www.ymlp.com though the cost may be an issue.
You could also use this to broaden your list to include ex-members,
sponsors, etc (subject to data protection).

Does anyone use a email list type program for scouts use? We try to
communicate with parents, ex members etc, but at the moment this means
copying over from spreadsheets and making sure everyone is blind copied so
email addresses are not shared.
What I am looking for is a program where people can opt into a ...
