Single burner stoves

We're looking at buying new single burner stoves for the Group to
replace Bleuet S206 and older Epigas stoves that are being retired.
We've already chosen MSR Pocket Rocket and Go Systems Thermo Tech for
lightweight hiking - and are now considering the 'flat' table-top stoves
for static camps and for using in ...

PL qualification

Situation: PL about to go on to Explorers. His girl (nearly-13) APL is
next in line for the throne. At our PLC (no, sorry I don't care what
the name ought to be) she was offered the "post". She asked for time
to think, and collared me after the session.

Camping on Islands

We're looking for an island to camp on next Whitsun- by island, we're
thinking about a small island, a bit like the one at Longridge, that
we can camp on. Anyone know of any? Greenfield or established.
Don't mind travelling to get there- I remember as a Scout camping on
an island in Wales somewhere ...
