Phil C + Martin R -> Old Glen Coe expedition question.
Wed, 23 Sep 2009 23:35:59 +0100
This mountain man program has got me looking at possible tops I might have
done but not logged. I was just wondering if we bagged the top, Beinn
a'Bheithir - Sgorr Bhan on the Glen Coe expedition. I remember the steep
part leading up, but not the actual top.

TR: Lake District 2 Weeks (longish!)
Mon, 21 Sep 2009 17:55:25 +0100
Who needs to go abroad for sunshine ... head for The Lake District!
Yes, what a brilliant 2 weeks Clare and I had in Braithwaite. A little rain
on the first Sunday (6th), and torrential rain on Tuesday 8th, but the rest
of the 2 weeks was glorious.
So what did we get up to? Well, it would be a tedious read ...

A plea for winter-walking pictures
Mon, 21 Sep 2009 09:00:05 +0100
Hi all,
Mountain Aid (a registered charity) is presenting a series of "winter
walking safety" lectures in November. We'd hoped they would be
country-wide this year but costs are prohibitive; as such they are
just in Scotland.
We're putting together some posters to use at the lecture venues, and
I wondered if ...

Nantlle Ridge path not shown on OL17
Mon, 21 Sep 2009 00:21:44 +0100
I have notice that the Ordnance Survey 1:25000 Explorer Map OL17 does not
show the path that runs along the Nantlle Ridge west of Rhyd Ddu and
Snowdon.
I made a complaint to the Ordnance Survey about this, and their response
was:

Brasher boot problem
Sun, 20 Sep 2009 12:37:59 +0100
I've recently bought a new pair of Brasher Boots, which are very comfortable
& look to be well made. In general they're good for my long distance & hill
walking, except in wet or damp conditions, as they've little grip on wet
wood & slippery wet rock. I know other boots will have less grip in these
conditions, ...
