Kamikaze spaniel

On camping holiday in Cornwall last week with two brothers and
families, we went for a walk along the SW Coastal Path along the
cliffs at a place known as The Rumps north of Polzeath. One of my
brother's spaniels went missing, the other looking over the cliff edge
at SW933808.
The fallen spaniel's body was rec ...

Sandals recommendation wanted
Mon, 04 Aug 2008 21:24:15 GMT
Anyone care to recommend a general purpose sandal (for walking
streets, beaches and maybe the occasional innocuous path; also
driving)? My Tevas are collapsing and I was wondering about the Terra
Fi, which looks sturdier than my current pair. I've got slender feet.
TIA,

Watership Down
Mon, 4 Aug 2008 16:29:58 +0100
I have often seen places while driving around the country and thought ..
'that would be a nice place to walk'; one in particular was Watership Down,
south of Kingsclere in Hampshire. Seen it so many times from the A34, and
today it became a reality having planned a route on MemoryMap.
Left home at 6:45am and ...

Denny and Matley Woods. Hollands Wood is fully booked and besides, costs
an eye watering ¡ê22 a night! Denny and Matley Wood sites cost ¡ê12 a
night - with no toilet or wash ...

Crampons
Sat, 2 Aug 2008 15:52:41 -0700 (PDT)
A few years ago, I bought a pair of Grivel G12 crampons. I've used
them quite a lot in Scotland and once or twice south of the border,
and I get on very well with them ... except in two things, one minor
and one more major.
The minor issue is that straps are fiddly to do up in cold weather:
they are very diffi ...
