Backpacking Cleveland Way / Eastern C2C
Sat, 19 Jul 2008 21:35:19 +0200
Hi all,
Since I have not been walking in Britain for 3 years now, I decided

No idea so far what to do for a 10 days stay, but why not have another
try on the eastern third of the C2C? I have only seen that part once,
in 1996 (and, after ...

Location discrepancy?
Sat, 19 Jul 2008 12:08:41 +0100
Is the following apparent discrepancy in the position of Grasmoor's
summit due to Google Earth 'mesh' error please?
If I copy the co-ords of the '852m' cairn (a location included on a
walk I did last summer) from Memory-Map and paste them to Google
Earth, I see this:

Wed, 16 Jul 2008 20:13:20 +0100
Hi Guys, long time no post
After 6 months of my 8 year old pestering me about walking Cader and

TR: A Week in the Alps
Wed, 16 Jul 2008 15:38:10 +0100
The Alps was an area I had never considered to go walking/climbing, not sure
why, but never seemed to appeal. Anyway, as my Everest North Col (Tibet)
trip in April was cancelled, I decided I needed to get into some snowy
mountains. So, I booked on a trip with KE Adventure and spent last week
based in the Cham ...

Tue, 15 Jul 2008 21:49:21 +0100
A 2-day circuit of the fine and remote Cwm Eigiau hills from
Dolgarrog, visiting a new Dewey top Moel Eilio and the splendidly
rocky summit of Craig Eigiau and returning via Llyn Cowlyd. The
changeable weather pattern of the summer continues and again the
clarity was excellent in the clear sunny periods of this tr ...

Sgwd-yr Eira falls
Mon, 14 Jul 2008 20:02:13 +0100
On Weatherman Walking tonight it was said that Sgwd-yr-Eira, currently
closed due to possible rock instability, will be opening in the next few
weeks.
The macho (I laugh at danger) men can relax:-)
