Wildly erratic altitude data?

I recorded a circular walk yesterday (around Bewl Water in East
Sussex, UK) with my QStarz Bluetooth GPS unit plus iPAQ 2210 Pocket
PC. With the trackpoints on my PC I did a little editing in GPS
Utility (version 4.94) to remove the spurious signals that arose

OT - Car rolling uphill

can let the handbrake off a parked car and it appears to roll
'uphill'.

Just wondering if anyone else has spotted that both Clip and Craig Ddrwg
(SH654329 & SH656331) on the Harvey 25k Rhinogydd map show a 600m ring
contour making them mountains in my book (though i know some of you are
sticking with the imperial 609.6m), and a prominence of 50m. This is missing
