Thinking of treating J to one of these this winter, as age is catching up on
me to haul in 50-60 m of chain.
I quite like it as all the bits are above deck (J has an internal anchor
chain locker in the forward cabin and the headroom is a bit limited for a
windlass with below deck gubbins).
Any experiences, go ...

Boat lettering - SSR numbers

Googling for lettering there are a lot of companies that offer adhesive
letters, but I'm not sure of their durability in a marine environment. I
did find one site the specialised in registration numbers for barges and
also SSR numbers. A lot of other places do some very big numbers, I
don't want the side of my boa ...

I can't find the original thread to post a follow up, but for those who
remember, this force 8 gave me the time to plug my multi-meter into the
tiller-pilot socket. Yes, it *is* getting the full whack from the
battery, so it's not the voltage drop that's causing it to make a
constant beep.
So I pulled it apart. ...
