Tiscali have discontinued Newsgroups

I have suddenly become unable to access URN and other newsgroups via
MS Mail and get the message when itry to that Tiscali (my useless ISP)
have stopped offering this service from 30th September onwards.
Presumably all Tiscali's customers are similarly affected. No doubt
this is an economy move by Tiscali, who are ...

Celestial navigation question

where I'm trying to familiarise myself with the almanac and have been
calculating the position of stars and going out and checking them, but

Thinking of treating J to one of these this winter, as age is catching up on
me to haul in 50-60 m of chain.
I quite like it as all the bits are above deck (J has an internal anchor
chain locker in the forward cabin and the headroom is a bit limited for a
windlass with below deck gubbins).
