Honda Super Dream
Mon, 1 Sep 2008 20:36:40 +0100
Well, I bought one because, er, because it was cheap.
From an old boy down near Poole. 1981W, 14k miles from new, all stock,
in silver with one of those period colour-matched Invader handlebar
fairings, a pair of Old Man Rickman panniers...
Needs two new silencers, which I should have in my hands on Wednesday. ...

What bike in WW2?
Mon, 1 Sep 2008 18:57:47 +0100
My Dad was in the 8th Army during the desert campaign of WW2, possibly Royal
Tank Regiment, around 1943 (sorry to be so vague, but he ain't around to
ask). He used to tell me of borrowing the unit's motorcycle to buzz into
Cairo for the weekend. I'm pretty sure he said it was a Matchless, 250 or
350, I think ...

The winning bidder was the bloke who asked whether the bleed nipple
was seized. And you'll see from the answers that I said I didn't know,
and offered advice on what to do. And now he's sheared it off and is
unhappy. I've offered him, ex gratia, a ...

Electric start Morinis - worth keeping E/S?
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 06:46:14 +0100
I'm just in the process of sorting out the excess spare parts for my
Morini basket case.
I have at least 2 starter motors, along with the relevant clutch and
engine covers. One of these covers is currently at ¡ê26 on ebay, so it'd
be worth selling them.
From all reports I've seen, the electric starters are a was ...

Steering head bearing woe
Wed, 27 Aug 2008 10:00:51 GMT
I am fitting new steering head bearings to the 550/4. The lower shell
has gone in fine but the top one just will not shift and still stands
about 2mm proud of the headstock. I don't want to hammer it more than
I have (using the old shell to cover it) but it has to be put in its
place.
Is there a magic puller ...
