Reel recommendation
Thu, 1 Nov 2007 12:17:05 +0000
Hi guys,
This winter I'm planning to do a fair bit of spinning on the local
rivers, (Thame, Thames, Windrush Andy?) and have decided that my 35 year
old ABU 504 needs to be retired and replaced.
What's the best closed face reel on the market in your opinion?
Cheers,
Alec

Death rigs
Sat, 27 Oct 2007 11:42:52 GMT
A silly question I think but what the hell are death rigs. I know some
people seem to think it is dangerous to the fish but where has this come
from and who as it makes no sense to me.
I was looking for more details on my loop rig that I know was so popular
just as I stopped fishing back in the late 70's.

a moral story
Thu, 18 Oct 2007 21:33:40 GMT
Hi all,
Just a few lines to say why helping people can be a pain. First I had to
live up to my recent run of luck, I mean expert judgement, in catching Bream
at my local lake. Out of the last 7 visits I have managed to land a good
handful of fish ranging from 3 to 6 lbs.
The father of one of my grandson sc ...

Which Are The Best Reels?
Mon, 15 Oct 2007 11:02:24 -0700
Abu, Daiwa, Shimano, which is the best? They each have their pluses
and they each have their minuses. It's really a case of you pays your
money and you makes your choice! Each make of reel has it's devotees,
who swear by what they use themselves, even though sometimes they know
there are weak points, that could be ...

Polish Pikers
Sun, 14 Oct 2007 20:42:28 GMT
Hi All,
I've been fishing some of my regular locations on the river Trent. There has
been an influx of Polish people to the area recently. When I have been
fishing they are polite and interested in fishing methods, but are taking
pike from the river. They have licenses and are legal, but feel that they
are erod ...

ABU 506 modification
Sat, 13 Oct 2007 17:36:30 GMT
Hi All,
I have an old abu506m, good old school reel but a little frustrating. The
drag is not great and i beleive there is a modification so that you can
reel in and out. The default stops you from doing this. Does anybody know of
this mod, or a link to a walkthrough?
Any help appreciated
Cheers
Matt

Hi all
Thu, 11 Oct 2007 22:34:17 GMT
I know advertising is not the done thing and this is not an advertisement
but when I get good service these days I do think it is worth passing on.
I wanted some digital scales so trawling the net I saw they were very
expensive till I found a company down south that did the lower range Salter
model that cover ...

Pellets
Sun, 07 Oct 2007 11:53:40 GMT
Hi Gentlemen,
Can anyone give me the low down on types and use of pellets. Being older
than life itself it seems I now need to know about these things as they are
the in bait that works. I would prefer not to use a hair rig if possible but
it seems it is the preferred way to fish them.
Oh yes, since when h ...
