new bike ;-)
Fri, 3 Oct 2008 19:55:38 -0700 (PDT)
I have bought a Dahon Speed TR 07, with 35% discount. which
presumably represent good value? I previously bought a fantastically
lovable 20" wheel folding bike for ¡ê10 from my local refuse tip ,
which is what got me interested in them.
Perhaps someone will point me in the right direction for getting

shimano hub dynamos
03 Oct 2008 20:52:50 GMT
I want a hub dynamo, but want to keep the roller-brakes on the bike it
would go on.
Ploughing through shimano's web site, it seems that the
DH-3R40 and DH-2R30 are the only hub dynamos that are roller brake
compatible. However, on the ultimate pursuits website it lists a
DH-3R30 as being roller brake com ...

Tactile paving
Fri, 03 Oct 2008 13:04:00 -0500
Can someone tell me what the lastest is on this issue? (The stuff with
ridges parallel to cycle lanes).
I think the last I heard (so may not be correct) was that the CTC were

bike side of a prett ...

True-ing a wheel
Fri, 3 Oct 2008 19:20:10 +0100
I've just replaced my brake blocks and the reduced block-rim distance has
shown up that the wheel isn't exactly true. Given that I've not worked on
the spokes for a couple of decades, I'd value the team's opinion on whether
a spoke spanner is
a) essential
b) nice to have
c) easily substituded by using a (xxx) ...

Bicycle porn thread

Feeling full of the joys of cycling right now, I declare this thread to
be a bike porn thread. Post pictures and descriptions of your most
beloved bicycles. Be aware that minors may be reading, so no exposed
bearings, please.
To start the ball rolling, my own preferred ride;

Canal towpath walkers and cyclists on collision course
Fri, 03 Oct 2008 16:01:35 +0100
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/oct/03/transport.cyclingholidays
Miriam Lantsbury hadn't even stepped on the canal towpath when she was
hit. She used to like walking to work along the narrow thoroughfare
beside the Regent's canal as it wiggles its way from Hackney in east
London to the City.
But that was be ...
