Midges in Scotland

Hi All. I've been just been reading an earlier thread about campsites in
Scotland and noticed a couple of concerns regarding midges..
I have booked for Me, The Wife and 2 Sons (6 & 9) to camp at the C&CC site
in Luss at the end of August. This will be the first time we have camped

Do people have a favourite site in Scotland? We're looking at having a
half-dozen of us meet up for a few days somewhere wild. Basic facilities
(incl hot shower), somewhere beautiful and not too midgey, and campfires a
real bonus.

Sleeping Bag Liner Question

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a sleeping bag liner to improve the warmth of my
sleeping bag.
Does anyone know how much difference these make?
Will silk provide better insulation than Cotton?
How many more degrees of protection would I get with a liner?
