Suspension for Gross Misconduct

Hi all, hope someone can help.
My brother has recently been suspended from work, on a charge of gross
misconduct, although he hasnt been advised what exactly the gross
misconduct was. His company van, and phone were imediately
confiscated.

I was hoping you could help me with this problem:
about 15 months ago my landlord stole my deposit: he gave me a cheque
that bounced. I sought help from lawyers, but they all said it wasn't
worth suing as the amount was relatively small compared to the fees
