Credit Card for On-line Shopping?

Hi all
I do not currently have a credit card, but understand that some include
insurance against fraudulent loss when shopping on-line.
Whilst I don't do much of this, I would like a safe means of payment both
for on-line transactions and when telephone ordering.

I'm looking at buying some land and wondered if this could be incorporated
into a SIPP scheme?
I would need to raise a mortgage to buy the land and so wonder what effect
if any this would have on the SIPP...
