FND 2001 revisited
Mon, 18 Aug 2008 17:59:38 +0100
Pat's Notes:
The FMD outbreak of 2001 has suddenly attracted much activity from pig
producers and piggy vets.
They seem anxious to prove once again the unprovable: that the source
of FMD in 2001 was illegal infected imported meat.
In reality, it was almost certainly a live import that arrived slap
bang int ...

"Piggy" MRSA ST398 We're really ******
Mon, 18 Aug 2008 17:34:46 +0100
Pat's Note: This is from the blog of Mike the Mad Biologist. I don't
think he is as mad as he makes out.
If fact, he seems to be right on the ball, even if he English is a
touch colourful.
Given the near decade since Britain first started pumping its pigs
full of antibiotic to deal with the mutated PMWS epide ...

Disturbingly, no mention is made of MRSA
Mon, 18 Aug 2008 13:10:36 +0100
Pat's Note: This report comes from Malaysia, a country that with
Singapore keeps a close eye on Britain and its human and animal
health.
Malaysia exposed the attempts to redate mutated MRSA to follow the CSF
and FMD epidemics. We now know why.
Singapore exposed that the Chinese Restaurants in Newcastle upon T ...

MRSA - Pigs - even upsetting the Sioux
Mon, 18 Aug 2008 10:11:19 +0100
Pat's Note: The ripples from MRSA and pigs spread ever wider from
Britain's now infamous bent government vets.
I continue to be amazed that the British government does not step in
decisively. This is not going to go away. Things are getting worse,
much worse. A glance at today's British nationals tells us that.

Pat's Note: The archives of uk.business.agriculture can help trace
relevant information. The series of reportsdated 21 December 2006 for
example
Previous cases do seem to show a uk distribution consistant with the
Gardiner Hypothesis that pis are a possible source.
More research needed. More reliable data nee ...

organic and vaccination
Sun, 17 Aug 2008 11:52:39 +0100
Just seen on Country File where a farmer vaccinating cattle for Blue Tongue
was explaining that although they were organic - or "nearly organic"
whstever that means, possibly in conversion, - she needed a derogation (sp)
from the Soil Assoc to do the vaccination.
Why? Animals do not become non-organic if they ha ...

Australian Pork Production/Welfare for Swine Video
Sat, 16 Aug 2008 23:23:40 -0700 (PDT)
Dear Mr. Gardiner: Your peers continue to tout the so-called UK
superiority to producing pigs. That's history. Others in the world
shout how good they are now.

Well, I fail to find anything validating that claim. Instead, we
continually read your expo ...
