Overflowing petrol filler pipe... how?

I got a call from my neighbour today advising me that my girlfriends
car (Mk IV Fiesta, 1.25L petrol) was leaking petrol... from the filler
cap.
I couldn't get my head around how this coul ...

Motorists could face ¡ê20 spot fines if they leave their engines running
while stuck in traffic.
Traffic wardens will be able to issue the penalties - after a warning -
in a bid to cut down on pollution.
A pilot scheme is due to be launched in January in Shoreham-by-Sea, West

Petrol cap key stuck - Rover 200

Hi,
Just heared from my old dad that he can't get the key out of the
petrol cap (W reg Rover 200).
I said have you:
1. Squitred lots of WD40 down it - Yes
2. Given it the really big pull - No
I think it is also the ignition key and he doesn't want to go too
crazy.
Anybody been here before?

In first gear it beeps but not the others - anyone know reason? Is this a
fault or warning?
Are there many known problems with this model?
