New gearbox?
Thu, 14 Aug 2008 21:08:47 +0100
Can anyone recommend an online parts place where I can find out how
much I would expect to pay for parts; in particular I've been trying
to find out how much a new gearbox for my '96 audi cabriolet would
cost. How do I find this out online?

Standard airline connector?
Thu, 14 Aug 2008 10:11:01 GMT
Hi All,
Is there such a thing as a standard (or de-facto standard) airline
fitting used these days please? The sort of quick release thing you
have on yer workshop compressor hoses and air guns etc.
A mate uses the ones from the Snap-On van "because they are quite
short and seem to work well". [1]

Tue, 12 Aug 2008 15:25:30 +0100

can't find a criticism of this stuff anywhere but neither can I find praise
for it or an explanation of how it works. I don't even know what it the

Sump plugs
11 Aug 2008 18:09:37 +0100 (BST)
I want to have a go at changing the oil on my Mitsubishi old banger. Given
it's my first time doing, it might be sensible to lay up some supplies just
in case something goes wrong...
I've been thinking about getting a spare sump plug and washer just in case,
but I'm rather confused by the range. AFAICS sump pl ...

VW Golf mk5 GTi burning oil
Mon, 11 Aug 2008 15:53:19 +0100
Hi
Car in question is a 2006 (56 plate) Golf GTi, approx 22,000 miles. The car
seems to be burning quite a bit of oil. In the last 4-6 months, the oil
warning light has come on twice and I have had to add a litre of oil on both
occasions. We have checked with VW who say this is normal as the GTi can

I have upgraded the head unit and front speakers in my '02 Focus to
some JBL direct replacements and am rather pleased with the results.
The next job is to to run a 60Amp cable through the bulk head to the
boot for my powered subwoofer. Has any one done this before on a Focus
and if so where is the best place t ...
