Importing a French-registered car

Is there any problem with buying a new car in France which is already
registered in France, driving it home then re-registering here? Or is there
a block on foreigners actually owning a French-registered vehicle?

The Loach company again!
I tried to buy a Porsche from them last year. I had chosen the car
myself from an official Porsche dealer they co-operate with and they
were supposed to bring the car over for me.
I gave them 10% deposit and the rest of money on delivery as per their
site.
The result: after 5 months ...
