road test exempt?
Sat, 15 Dec 2007 20:13:48 -0000
Hello,
The vendor of this van on Ebay claims it is road test exempt. 370001550152
Sounds unlikely somehow. Can it be?
Not thinking about buying - just curious how such an exemption might be
obtained.
Cheers.

Wolseley 15/50 / MG Magnette
Tue, 11 Dec 2007 16:21:03 -0800 (PST)
Actually, the reason that the Magnette was released with the B Series
engine and the Wolseley with the XPAW engine was nothing to do with
giving the Magnette more power, although this was a desirable side
effect of that decision. Both cars were designed prior to the
Nuffield/Austin merger, but the Wolseley was re ...

Tue, 11 Dec 2007 04:59:31 -0800 (PST)
Folks,
I need to put new tyres on the DS. I've taken the opportunity of the
winter layup to have the wheels blasted and painted, and threw away
the horribly old south african tyres and rather worn Kumhos which were
on them. So what I have now is ...
Five nice shiny wheels
One almost new Hankook

P6 Questions
Sat, 8 Dec 2007 12:53:12 -0000
Hello All,
couple of P6 questions..
The previous owner said the diff is grumbling - "there is a lot of backlash
when you move from forward to reverse gears". Is this likely to be the diff
or the auto box?
He also says "I'm not convinced that the air distribution control works -
the lever moves up and do ...

1980's headlining
Fri, 7 Dec 2007 17:09:04 -0000
I've just been offered a 1984 Jaguar Sovereign S3 - wasn't looking for one,
but it just came up....
Major problem is that the headlining is bubbling and sagging, probably due
to water ingress through the sunroof. It's not a "proper"
cloth-over-stretchers job, just cloth glued on to cardboard panels.

Rover P6. LPG or not?
Wed, 28 Nov 2007 22:33:33 -0000
Hello All,
for some perverse reason, I've decided to buy a P6 3500 V8. I'm not that
bothered about economy, but I have a feeling I'll end up using a lot more
than I am planning to. Well, it's either that, the Xantia or the missus'
Mondeo.
It's a 1974 model, automatic running on twin SUs. Has anyone conver ...
