IE / FF inner / outer padding
Sat, 03 Nov 2007 14:32:42 GMT
Me again.
Has anybody got a proven method of combating the way IE puts the padding on
the inside of the div's px width you assign, yet FF/Opera lets the text flow
to the full width then push the padding to the outside like it was a margin?
e.g.
div {width: 300px;height: 300px; padding:50px}

Div overlaps Floated img
Fri, 26 Oct 2007 15:19:21 GMT
Okay,
Yet again I have a <DIV> with only a few lines of text and a larger image
floated to the left of them, thus extending below the text.

The next <DIV> below only recognises the base of 'Blah blah' as the wall to

Mozzila lazy font rendering
Fri, 26 Oct 2007 14:12:12 GMT
I've never liked FFX for it's matchstick like font rendering and have been
tearing my hair out trying to get a few lines of 'Classic Quotes' looking
good in italic serifs- broken sticks, almost unreadable in FFx.
And then I cracked it so in case any other fussy rookie has been down my

Adobe Contribute bogosity
Thu, 25 Oct 2007 10:43:45 +0100
I don't think it's just me. Adobe Contribute (CS3, version 4.1) is
really rather sloppily executed.
In Administer site > Users & Roles > Edit Role Settings > Shared Assets
> Add > Library Item (that alone should be an indication of some
interface issues in the program) there is a wholly disfunctional dialog

Stripy tables (Dreamweaver plugin or other tool wanted)
Wed, 24 Oct 2007 19:10:34 +0100
Does anyone know of a Dreamweaver plug-in (or a free-standing app) which
will apply a class to alternate (or every third, or whatever) table
rows, so that, for example:
<tr><td>1</td></tr>
<tr><td>2</td></tr>
<tr><td>3</td></tr>
<tr><td>4</td></tr>
can be changed to, say,

My client / potential co-business person wants me to slap a (C) on the
company logo but I am in doubt.
Are you allowed to stamp these statements over your business name/logo/site
unless it IS actually officially copyrighted / trademarked or registered.
Legality is not my scene and I've got enough on my plate ...

Adding a search facility to an html page
Tue, 23 Oct 2007 12:51:07 +0100
I've put together an html/css site for a client and he's now asked for a
search feature. This isn't something I've done before, and I would be
grateful for any advice on the simplest way to deliver a relatively elegant
solution.
I'm rather hoping that there's a fairly straightforward walkthrough I can
