Who else uses Outlook Express here?
Sat, 31 May 2008 15:09:58 +0100
I've had a bug with mine which has pi$$ed me off for ages;
Most replies I make work fine; the > characters go down the side, but for a
couple of recipients only, on EVERY reply they will not appear!
Does anybody else experience this or do you all use dedicated Usenet
software?
Oh, and for some reason the ...

Validation faliure due to URL...???
Sat, 31 May 2008 12:53:43 +0100
I've just finished a massive task, with a very happy customer, just to go
validate and find out that the URLs to external sites (many of them) are
causing failures that I do not understand.
Here's one page holding them;
http://www.kazbarsystemsinc.com/products/microphones.html
W3C Complaint is;

Find who links to a site?
Fri, 30 May 2008 17:51:08 GMT
I tried the Google links: search. It came up with rubbish - hardly any
sites that link and quite a few that definitely don't, not even the cached
version.
I tried www.wholinks2me.com that works a lot better. But it apparently uses
Google so why?
I tried Yahoo! Site Explorer that works much better. Bonus - i ...

Domain Registry of America - parasites
Thu, 22 May 2008 21:13:27 +0100
One of my clients has "renewed" two domains through these creeps. If
you haven't encountered them, they send speculative letters "inviting"
you to renew your domain at three times the going rate. You have to
read the letter carefully to realise that it isn't a bill. She'd just
been bereaved, and was taken i ...

FreeVirtualServers.com any good?
21 May 2008 22:47:46 GMT
Anyone got anything good or bad to say about FreeVirtualServers.com?
I'm looking for some cheap and easy to use hosting with domain name
bundled, bandwidth use is likely to be negligible but OTOH may need to add
SSL & maybe PGP since any data submitted on webforms is likely to be of a
personal nature. FreeVir ...

HSBC Integration
Wed, 21 May 2008 14:01:11 -0500
I posted a couple of weeks ago about this and we've just sorted out the
solution.
It's an IIS box running PHP.
At the end of the process you post the cart variables to an exe file that
creates an order hash to send to HSBC.
The exe outputs a new form to the browser with a load of variables and
you have ...

Domains after the owner dies

I have a particular interest in leonard-cheshire.com for ]political
and historical reasons.
(http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2001/may/02/internet.society)
It is currently registered to an individual,
http://whois.domaintools.com/leonard-cheshire.com James Savage, who at
some point was Leonard Cheshire's "W ...
