Help please? CSS layout problems in IE

Hello,
Please could someone be kind enough to help me with some problems I'm
having with the layout of a site? It works as I planned it to in most
browsers, but has a number of problems in Internet Explorer. (I would
like to support at least versions 6 and 7 if possible). The site is:

WIERD; IE gets stuck following link down page, no luck in google

Got a list of in-page #links sitting in a div.
IE won't drop down the page- it tries but gets 'stuck' at the top of the div
area!!!
Makes no sense and found nothing on google. Common?

Do you remember when you had the same enthusiasm in regard to building
websites and gaining web authoring knowledge ? .
Do you think somebody should tell him that once he has gained the
knowledge he seeks and once he has built several hundred websites that
it all becomes a bit boring and mind numbing :-)) ...

Floats underlapped in IE6

I am going mad here, IE6 checking of

where the photos are floated to the left and the div's background and border
is completely ignoring the image, underlapping them!!
I was/am in the middle of another project when I did an IE6 test and this
has got my goat. Plea ...
