Gallery hosting?     24 Dec 2007 18:20:18 GMT
Hi everyone. I've just royally screwed up security fix for "Gallery". ( http://gallery.menalto.com/ ) and now a close friend of mine who was using that software is now rather unhappy with me. (I think it was because the upgrade went from 2.0.x to 2.2.4 and something didn't quite mesh. Or maybe I slipped and dele ...

Add to favorites according to server stats     Sat, 22 Dec 2007 19:49:26 GMT
How the hell can server stat generators even estimate how many people are adding your site to their favorites/bookmarks? To ask in a different manner; Is this statistic something that proficient webmasters (shut up krusty) consider a worthwhile statistic to show their clients? -- -dE|_--- ...

Fangs     Fri, 21 Dec 2007 17:34:47 +0000
I use Fangs to see what pages might be like for a non-visual user. Weirdly, it always adds " dash Internet Explorer" to the page's <title> element. <http://apple.com> for example starts: Page has twenty-eight links Apple dash Internet Explorer What's all that about? Daniele ...

Illustrating universal accessibility     Tue, 18 Dec 2007 17:54:43 +0000
On a web page, I want to illustrate the importance of producing content which is universally accessible. I have a picture of someone using a mobile phone (device independence), and of someone using a white-on-black display with huge text (special visual needs). I'd also like to illustrate the experience tot ...

html>body .unleaded {margin: 0;} I wish Audi had done something like this to hide unleaded fuel from diesel engines. I'm just hoping the warranty covers stupidity or else I'm facing a ¡ê600 bill. -- Andy Jacobs http://www.redcatmedia.co.uk ...

I have an image in an overflow: hidden - is there any way to have both edges of the image clipped rather than the right edge, as the containing element gets narrower? Daniele ...

I have a page, with a fluid columnar layout - the columns are divs floated next to each other. It has two main columns in it: [ [menu, 20% width] [ maincontent 80% width ] ] Sometimes in the maincontent section, I also have two columns: [ [menu, 20% width] [ maincontent 80% width ...

Anybody else used Zoom search engine? or good at PHP?     Fri, 14 Dec 2007 13:14:00 GMT
The nav bar is quite descriptive and so when you run some searches you get 7 lines of nav bar content!! I can't find a way in config to stop this- is there a way (except for frames) to say "don't index this part of the page"? ---dE|_--- ...
