Some times a graph does not set polling correctly and so has a purple background not yellow. This also means some data is lost when logging usage (in customers favour). This ...

Odd router problems     Thu, 27 Aug 2009 21:22:59 +0100
My ADSL router has been misbehaving recently and I became convinced it was slowly dying. The symptoms were: - loss of DNS service - The gateway address on the WAN side is lost with it being set to 0.0.0.0 or this address gets set to another ip. I can't remember it now but I did a reverse-DNS lookup at the time ...

ZyXEL: Editing autoexec.net     Wed, 26 Aug 2009 19:36:36 +0100
I would like to add the command "ip nat loopback on" to the end of the autoexec.nat file on my router. I've managed to do this once before, but I forgot to write down how I managed it. I know roughly what I did: 1. telnet 192.168.1.1 and enter my password 2. enter the command: sys edit autoexec.net At th ...

WBC rate from checker 1/2Mb/sec     Wed, 26 Aug 2009 13:56:25 +0100
I just spotted the message "WBC rate from checker 1/2Mb/sec" on my status page. A similar message 3 days ago said 5Mb/sec. Is this the rate I could expect to be getting if I had stayed on ADSL2+? If so, I'm glad I reverted to ADSL1, where I seem to have a steady rate of 6.3Mb/sec ... although before and briefly ...
